Well, we have had a busy 3 .days. Thursday thankfully mostly in the bus allowing some muscle rest, but we did have a stop at an old fashioned cafe for a cream horn! Have not seen one of those for decades.
The crossing by ferry from Wellington to Picton on South island was a delightfully picturesque sunshine laden cruise through the most beautiful island studded sound. And our motel accommodation in Picton spotlessly clean, spacious and well organised.
Friday saw an early start to get to the start of our 2 day Nydia track walk, a very dusty gravelled road to start with , and then a lovely walk steadily and fast up through woodland with occasional snatches of a view to a ridge, or saddle, for a picnic lunch, and then an amble down the other side to Nydia Bay lodge. This was a superb family run lodging, quirky, with 2 rooms in a train, and a yurt as well as lodges, a wood fired hot tub outside in the bush, a horse that one of the daughters rode are back, no bridle, bare footed and with no hat,! The family were incredibly welcoming, and we had a very relaxing evening being spoilt! Some of us had a sea swim as well as a hot tub, and then a nice hot shower☺
Saturday we walked from the lodge up to another saddle and down the other side, for another sea swim before a 2 hour drive to our next stop, and resumption of wifi.
No photos as I did not use my phone, and now it isn't working. I hope it is just completely out of charge, but it has not recovered after 2 hours of plugging in......any suggestions?

Found your blog again. Looks as if you are having a good holiday and avoiding the run of equinoxial storms here. Photos are a bit small but blog getting more interesting - keep it up, not sure if comments work though very cumbersome!
